We have a new and unique opportunity for a limited number of supporters or local businesses to Name a Seat in Shrewsbury’s historic independent cinema.

There are just 81 seats available, on a first-come, first-served basis. Your support will help us generate funding for future improvements to the venue.

From a dedication to someone special, remembering a loved one, or special memories at the cinema, to marking your own support for the Old Market Hall, naming a seat is a fantastic gift or gesture of support.

LIVE MUSIC IN THE CAFE BAR
at the Old Market Hall

Join Shropshire multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Matt Woolley aka Quantum Penguin on Sunday 13 May at The Old Market Hall.

His love of storytelling through song blended with driving instrumentals means his set is one minute lilting and filled with emotion and the next joyfully energetic with soaring Fiddle, Guitar or Bouzouki.

Matt is a founding member of the Folk music group String Workshop and enjoys collaborating with fellow musicians and artists on various projects and art installations from Cornwall to Shropshire.

Past performances include Chippenham Folk Festival, the Shrewsbury LoopFest Music Festival, Folk In The Orchard Festival, Lichfield Festival of Folk, Brimfield and Dreamers Folk Clubs and the Albert’s Songwriters Showcase in Shrewsbury. He was nominated for “Folk Musician of The Year” at the Shropshire Music Awards in both 2023 and 2024. 

From songs that make you cry to rip-roaring Fiddle tunes that will make you stomp your foot, Matt will guide you through the full spectrum of emotions while you sing along!
