CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE

Published : 25/Mar/2020

The Old Market Hall remains closed until further notice. We really miss you, our friendly customers, and loyal film fans. Our staff miss working alongside each other, and our wonderful local suppliers.

Since closing our doors in March, we have worked hard to meet the initial challenges, and consider those still ahead of us. Some of our staff have been working from home, to maintain the best possible service for our audiences, particularly those with tickets for film screenings which have been impacted by our closure. It is so disappointing not to share those much anticipated films with you, but we have been hugely grateful for the patience, understanding and good wishes we have received as we have all adjusted our plans together.

In terms of re-opening, there are still more questions than answers about when and how this can be achieved safely. We continue to listen to government advice, and receive guidance from both Shropshire Council and the wider cinema industry, to inform our next steps. While social distancing remains in place, our lovely 16th Century home presents us with some challenges in re-opening the Cafe Bar, and filling our cinema as normal will be out of the question. So while we're unable to set a timeframe for re-opening just now, we continue to explore potential solutions which will best safeguard the wellbeing of both staff and visitors, and you'll be the first to know when we have good news.

In the meantime, we strongly encourage everyone to follow the Government guidelines on staying at home where possible and to observe social distancing. Keep up-to-date with the latest Government news and advice at gov.uk/coronavirus.

If you are yet to contact us about your tickets for any events which have been cancelled or rescheduled due to our current closure, please contact the Box Office (01743 281281) when convenient. A full list of confirmed cancellations or rescheduled dates can be found below. Please note that Box Office telephone service is currently operating reduced opening hours of 10am - 2pm, Monday to Friday. Box Office are currently unable to accept payments but seat reservations can be made.

We hope it won't be too long before we can welcome you to OMH again. Stay safe, keep well.

Best wishes from all of us at OMH
